The Lake Charles Regional Sports Authority, in partnership with CBS Lake Charles, announces the 2024 Louisiana’s Playground 4-Person Scramble that will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at Mallard Golf Club. This event aims to raise funds to promote numerous youth golf tournaments held throughout Southwest Louisiana showcasing the region as a hub for youth golf development and giving athletes a platform for broader recognition. Among these events is the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Lake Charles Junior Championship, which will take place April 17-20, 2025, at Mallard Golf Club.

The tournament will kick off with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and promises a fantastic experience for golfers of all skill levels. Participants will enjoy a post-round meal and have the chance to compete for awards given to the top finishers.

“Youth golf events in Southwest Louisiana play a crucial role in nurturing young talent and bringing recognition to our region,” said Eric Zartler, Executive Director of the Lake Charles Regional Sports Authority. “This scramble not only provides a great day of golf but also supports our efforts to enhance the youth golf landscape, offering opportunities for young athletes to showcase their skills.”

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses looking to make a positive impact in our community. A 4-person team costs $600, and a variety of sponsorship levels are available, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, offering businesses and individuals the chance to make an impact while gaining recognition. The deadline for sponsorship commitments is September 20, and the last day to register teams is October 9.
